The ACM/SIGDA International Symposium on Field-Programmable Gate Arrays is introducing an industry session in its main program. Industry-focused papers should be submitted to the industry track.

Overview and topics

This track is dedicated to papers with high industry relevance that may provide the FPGA research community with insights into the latest technological advancements, as well as the challenges that face the FPGA industry and that might inspire new research directions.

Examples of topics that can be submitted to this track:

  • New or existing FPGA devices and their related architectures, subsystems, IPs, etc.
  • Canceled products provided that the paper delivers insights into the challenges and/or lessons learned.
  • Commercial CAD flows, algorithms, compilers, etc., including optimizations and runtime evaluations.
  • Discussions on challenges or constraints that face the FPGA industry in the design, planning, and/or implementation of actual products.
  • Novel methods for analyzing and/or improving power consumption, security, reliability, verification, etc.
  • The introduction of real-world applications ideal for FPGA solutions, and the integration of FPGAs into systems, data centers, etc.

Submission topics are not limited to the above examples. Novel topics that may offer unique perspectives into industry practices, priorities, and problems are welcomed.

Why submit to the Industry Track?

This track is suited for industry papers that may have difficulties getting published through a regular track. This may happen in cases where, for example, the authors are unable to:

  • Hide the affiliation and/or product name which might affect anonymity.
  • Share some specific design or implementation details due to proprietary techniques or trade secrets.
  • Compare to existing academic work, use open-source benchmarks, or share detailed experimental results.

This track, however, is not suited for:

  • Pure marketing papers without valuable contributions and insights.
  • Academic research co-authored by industry members. These papers should be submitted to the regular track.

For questions regarding a submission’s topic or eligibility to this track, please contact the program chair before the submission deadline.

Submission Guidelines

Similar to the regular track, industry submissions will be considered for acceptance as long or short papers. The same guidelines and processes of the regular track apply to the industry track.

Additional guidelines, specific to the industry track:

  • The authors’ names must remain blinded for review; however, the affiliation(s) and the exact product(s), if applicable, should be revealed.
  • The first author and most of the paper’s authors must be from industry. The paper can have co-authors from academia as well.
  • “Industry Track” must be selected as the “Submission Track” when registering the paper in the submission system.
